In this particularly successful project each student was given a clear plastic umbrella. They could do whatever they wanted and the resulting pieces were hung and displayed at our Whole School Art exhibition in 2017.
Site Specific Sculpture
Students created sculptures with a specific location in mind. The sculptures were then installed around the school and were very well received, particularly by the elementary students who loved 'spotting' the figures.
This unit gave students a chance to explore different sculpture materials and different purposes of public sculpture. Having researched, analysed and discussed the purposes of sculpture in public, students selected a location in Hong Kong that they felt needed a piece of sculpture. They then created their sculptures and finally used Pixlr to insert their sculpture into a photo of their location.
